Subvention Bands and Rates

The table below outlines the weekly subvention rates for bands A, AJ or B, based on the type of service the child is availing of. (The list of payments under Band A in the table is not exhaustive. Where clarification is required please contact the City/County Childcare Committee). Please note that a Medical Card is required with Band A and Band AJ payments. The Subvention bands and rates are as follows:

Subvention provided by the CCS Scheme will reduce the weekly fees you pay as per the table below.

As a community-based childcare service Bright Beginnings are fortunate to be able to offer parents three Government Childcare Schemes.

  • (CCS) Childcare Subvention Scheme, is for eligible Social Welfare Recipients with or without Medical Card.
  • (TEC) Training and Employment Childcare Programme which includes (CETS) Childcare Education and Training Support scheme, which supports the childcare needs of participants in training and educational courses operated by FáS and Vocational Education Committees (VECs) and (CEC) Community Employment Childcare which supports part time childcare for Community Employment participants
  • (ECCE) the Free Pre-School Scheme, children aged between 3 years 3 months and 4 years 6 months in September each year are eligible. In Pre-School, children are entitled to 38 weeks of 5 day sessional placement at no charge, in line with the local school’s term times (September-June annually). Eligible children in full day care are entitled to the ECCE sessions and in turn to a discount on their fees over 38 weeks.  Full fee is charged outside of term time.
